Mike met that guy, you know that guy, at his convention in Chicago this past weekend.  So he can say that he spent our anniversary with that crazy question mark guy from TV.  I love Mike’s face in this picture… really a face only a wife could love:

June 22nd, 2008

is on Tuesday and to celebrate selling on Etsy for one year I am offering free shipping on all of my listings!

I am amazed and proud that I have stuck with this for an entire year, and actually now that I think of it I never doubted that I could do it for a year.  Sure I questioned my choices, relearned things, found out new ways of expressing myself and sometimes, maybe just a little, tiny, wee bit doubted my worth.  But that’s growing and improving and challenging myself to be better.

I thank you for supporting me, encouraging me and believing in me.  You have done so much more than look on as a friend, you have helped me as a person, an artist and as an achiever.  I am forever indebted to your strength, thank you.

Here’s to my next year with Etsy and with you…

My 3rd Anniversary.

June 20th, 2008

Is actually tomorrow, but Mike will be leaving for Chicago in the morning so we celebrated it today. We went out to dinner to my new favorite Italian restaurant, La Dolce Vita. It was great for me but Mike’s order got kind of screwed up and even though I assured him that they wouldn’t spit in his food or put his meat down their pants, he just couldn’t bring himself to send it back so he enjoyed it anyway. It was nice and we had good conversation. He then told me what he got me for our anniversary and lemme tell you, I’m just keeping in my excitement, only because I’m really really tired and… well that’s the only reason.

When he found out that his company wanted him to go to this convention on our anniversary he scored two tickets to that show. We will probably be the oldest people there without chaperoning our own children but I don’t care, I’m wicked excited! And why wouldn’t I be, I’m an Idol fanatic and a David Cook fanatic… just enjoy his music, not really going to stalk him, much.

I’m so happy that we had a great anniversary and I know we’re going to have a 100 more. By the way, we round out our evening with browsing the baby clothes* at Khol’s, it was so cute and fun and we reminded ourselves that not long ago we never even wanted to have kids… how somethings change while others stay the same.

So many days.

So many days coming up for me:

1) the 21st: my 3 year anniversary

2) the 24th: my 1 year Etsy anniversary; 1 year since my first listing

3) the 12th of July: my Jesus birthday; I’ll be 33

Oh, that’s it… it seemed like so many more in my head.

Okay, well start shopping, you really only have 29 more days to shop. And that means I have to figure out what I’ll be planning for the big day. Maybe I’ll just get really drunk with people I know, I’ve wanted to do that for so long anyhow. And cake, lots of cake.

Can you get drunk on cake?

It struck me that I haven’t shared with you, as so many people do, my favorite Etsians and all of the treasures I have indulged in over almost the past two years.  There are countless and here is just the first in my spotlight:

polpetteclay.etsy.com

Adorable, fun and heart-warming, this art mainly centered around the love of pea pods with their spirited expressions and various themes, has brought such joy into my life.  This artist is so crafted in subtleties, it is in her detail that you can surely see the love she brings to each unique design.

Here’s a little bit of fun.  Some may know that I do an anniversary favor every year to celebrate my wedding date, favors for the guests I would have invited to my wedding had I been born of traditional genes.  Anyhow, this year I had my very own pod commissioned by this amazing and sweet artist.  No preview though, I’m keeping it a mystery.  I just have to say that I saw a photo of the finished product and I was blown away.

Stop by her shop and take a peak, you will be so happy you did.  Like you need a reason to smile today?
